Context

Two Months
Muslim Feminists for the Arts
Rutgers University
Contribution
Curation, event planning, marketing campaign, installation, deinstallation, and two artworks

Concept

As Muslim Feminists for the Arts' (MFA) first exhibition and event, Hello My Name was meant to introduce MFA to the world.

Marketing Campaign

The Hello My Name Is marketing campaign drew inspiration from the classic red "Hello My Name Is" tags often used in settings where people are not yet familiar with each other. The tag gives the opportunity to start an open conversation.

The event and show were advertised by tagging Hello My Name Is stickers all over the Civic Square Building.

Opening Night

The opening night of the reception featured an artist talk by Arabic calligrapher Aisha Holland, food, and a spoken word performance my Mina Khan. The exhibitionists are identifiable by the Hello My Name Is tags.

Photos from the Reception

As MFA's first event, there were over 75 attendees!
