Concept
The exhibition Balancing Act addresses balance in tradition and practice as well as moral and ethical subjects for Muslims, specifically Muslim women.
The Balance refers to ability to measure and calculate between doing what is right or wrong, which is a way in which we establish justice, harmony, and beauty in the world. It shows our perspective and our ideas, which is a unique and continuous balancing act both individually and collectively.

My piece, "Home," is a rug display exploring the balance between congregational prayer (represented by the rugs on the floor), individual spirituality (represented by the individual Quran), and social gatherings (represented by the tea table).
